Bryan Aucoin has been re-elected to the Association for Enterprise Information (AFEI) Board. The AFEI is a non-profit industry association. As a Board member, Mr. Bryan Aucoin will support AFEI's  mission to foster collaboration between government and industry on important and timely issues related to information across the Federal enterprise.  Please visit the AFEI web site at www.afei.org.

 

August, 2011

With funding from the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD) Alanthus has just completed preliminary design for a hybrid, tactical solar power system. This portable system will produce 3 - 5 kW of power continuously using a combination of solar power and various liquid fuels. Our design dramatically reduces fuel use, a distinct advantage for soldiers in the field.

Alanthus is pleased to welcome Mary Chadduck to support corporate research. Her current focus is on personnel recruitment and business development. Mary has a BA in English from Grinnell College, Iowa, and a MA in International Relations with a concentration in East and Southeast Asian Studies from American University, DC. In the past she has worked for USA Today, the federal government, and most recently home-schooled her children to college.

Alternative energy expert Bear Davis has joined Alanthus to guid the company's solar power engineering efforts. Bear has worked in various roles at Sanders Associates, BAE Systems, and Brayton Energy, including mechanical and systems engineering, program management, and as a mentor to junior engineers on programs in defense electronics, aircraft, orbiting space systems, and solar-thermal electric generation.

Technologist David Medinets has jointed Alanthus Associates. David will be focusing on technology issues related to Big Data. "David's incredible energy and experience building innovative, mission-driven applications are a welcome addition to the team", stated Bryan Aucoin, Alanthus Associate's founder.
